I am a person who enjoys the outdoors as much as anybody else does. The one thing I do not like about camping and the outdoors are the those bugs that seem to know exactly how they can get to you when you are sleeping in your comfortable camping bed or camping air beds . There were numerous times when I would wake up in the middle of the night on a camping trip with either some of my best buds or even my family simply because I felt something creeping up my arm or my leg. You should see me squirm as fast as I possibly can out of my blanket and jumping up and down like crazy as I try to shake of whatever it was I felt on my skin.

You would think that my fear and aversion to such little creepy crawlies would keep me away from camping for good. No such luck. I belong to a family that enjoys the outdoors so much that we go camping and trekking and fishing as often as it is possible and while I am used to living in the rough when it comes to these situations, I really cannot stand the sensation of a bug or even an ant crawling on me when I am asleep.

Last year, my dad seemed to have gotten enough of my usual tantrums when it came to this problem. During our usual camping trip, the rest of the family brought out their individual inflatable camping beds. As I began to search for my air camping bed, my dad called me to him and told me he got me something that will solve my bug dilemma once and for all. He pulled out a camping hammock from the trunk of the car and told me that that would be my camping bed from now on. I frowned at what he gave me. A camping hammock? I shook my head in dismay as he pulled out the rest of the gear needed to help set up the camping hammock in my tent.

There was an easy to set up stand for the hammock and before long, my dad had the hammock and stand assembled and ready for use in my tent. That night was the first night in years that I did not feel a single bug crawl on me while I slept. Not even an ant. When I woke up the next morning, I felt refreshed from a good night's sleep for the first time in a very long time at a camping expedition. Who would have thought that sleeping in a portable hammock would be that comfortable?
